Configure a Rating question
A Rating question measures a degree of satisfaction or another defined scale.

Steps
- Add a Rating question and state what respondents are rating.
- Open Question options and choose the Rating scale, Rating symbol, and whether to Use Slider. The current panel labels the scale maximum as 15.
Define the endpoints explicitly so respondents can interpret the scale. - Write Lower rating label and Upper rating label so respondents know which end is positive. Check Mark Optional.
- Preview each end of the scale and a middle answer. Test leaving a required rating unanswered and inspect the saved value.
Example five-point scale and endpoint labels. Preview is a layout check; saved answers, attachments, and completion require separate tests. This is the slider presentation. Test the lowest, middle, highest, and unanswered states separately.
Check before you rely on it
Keep the same scale direction throughout a survey. A slider’s starting appearance must not be mistaken for a deliberate answer.
If you need help
If validation or a saved value differs from the intended selection, report the scale settings and browser before launching.
Contact support with the relevant screen, time, and a redacted description. Keep credentials and private respondent information out of screenshots.
